Shri Virendra Malik
Shri Virendra Malik is a distinguished finance professional with more than three decades of experience in financial management, commercial operations, corporate finance, taxation, regulatory compliance, and strategic business decision-making. He is currently serving as Executive Director (Finance), NTPC Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise and India's largest integrated power utility.
Over the course of his career, Shri Malik held key leadership roles across a broad spectrum of finance functions and has made significant contributions in the areas of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, profitability enhancement, cost management, taxation, regulatory compliance, and tariff-related matters, taxation and ERP-based business transformation. He has played a significant role in evaluating and overseeing commercially and financially critical matters and business growth initiatives. His extensive experience in financial planning, risk management, process optimization, and stakeholder management has contributed substantially to organizational efficiency and value creation.
A Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi, Shri Malik has also completed Advanced Management and Leadership training at ESCP Business School, Paris. He has been actively associated with several digital transformation and governance initiatives across the NTPC Group. Shri Malik serves as a Director on the Boards of several NTPC Group companies, bringing with him a wealth of experience in finance, commercial management, and corporate governance.
