Gorakhpur Unit

Location

The Gorakhpur Fertilizer unit is located at about 12 km north from Gorakhpur town in eastern part of Uttar Pradesh on NH-28. It has excellent connectivity both by road and rail.

The Gorakhpur Air Port which is 21 km from Gorakhpur Fertilizer unit has direct flights to major cities.

Current Status

Following the formation of HURL in June, 2016, the foundation stone of the Gorakhpur project was laid by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 22nd July, 2016.

With the support of all its stakeholders, including the Central Government, State Government, Local bodies, the Gorakhpur Unit was commissioned and dedicated to the Nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 7th December, 2021.

The Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the Gorakhpur Unit was declared on 3rd May, 2022.

Presently, the Gorakhpur Unit is operating at full capacity, ensuring the timely availability of fertilizers to farmers.
